Ha ha - I just got a promotional email from the place where I bought my 255 - they now sell the 265. There's a section about what sets it apart from the 255 and besides the amoled-screen they are really hitting on training readiness. It's like Garmin is actually going out of their way to mock the schmucks who were stupid enough to get the 255 :-) I'm at the point where I just have to laugh it off and give Coros a try.
I don't have a problem with them adding an optional new screen. It's the spite of adding training readiness and keeping it from the 255 that gets me. That and the broken software and the realization…
Given the choice between the 265 and the 255, I would take the 255, even at higher cost. AMOLED is not for me. I want the screen to be on all the time, and visible in bright sunlight.
Another difference - 265 has Hot keys :D
Garmin's marketing is straightout disgusting. BUT over at the 955 forum people say these new Amoled FRs will have the same firmware as the 255/955. So at least we will all be in the same boat if that's true
