Bluetooth activity sync - BUG?

I had an update to my Garmin Forerunner 255 yesterday.

My run did not sync to Garmin Connect via Bluetooth this morning despite my watch being connected to my phone and HR data being visible on my phone.

Sync did work when I connected the watch using a USB cable and used Garmin Express.

Is this a bug?

Same problem in my wife's 255. Some activities sync, but some don't. It seems quite random, which activities won't sync.
