The amount of bugs is unacceptable, and quite frankly embarrassing. The Garmin Connect is the most bloated and slow app, EVER. In a low signal area, well forget even attempting to open Garmin Connect.

I still love the concept of a dedicated sport watches in principle (major battery life, dedicated sports functionalities) and I really don't like the apple watch visual style. That being said, the Forerunner 255 has been a major disappointment and the state of Garmins software development is an embarrassment. If I could I would get my money back for this watch. Buyers beware!

Yes!

Yes! Plus the ridiculous battery life, even considering the display and smart functions.

I don’t think so. I like it much better then my FR245, because of the more precise GPS and pacing plus some additional metrics and better battery life.
A downside is the build quality of the buttons, that I have to admit.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. The Quality Assurance seems to be nonexistent, the scope of the releases is dubious and communication plus the whole release process including the beta is a mess right now.
And I am working in software projects for years…
Agree. I switched from Fenix 6 to the Forerunner 255 and still shocked how buggy is this product. And it is not going better… Looking for alternative watch right now.
The buttons are often an issue at the FR245. I returned my first 245 because of a stuck lap button. The second one has stuck up and down buttons from time to time. Then I put it into a bowl with warm water. Although it's not good to press buttons in water I have to do that to make them work again. Just lying in the water has no effect.
The buttons on my FR245 were ok, really. Never had issues.
It‘s the buttons on my FR255 now, that are not so good. Nothing stuck, but especially the start button and the back button feel as if they had two pressure points, they are not going smooth and make creaking noise.
These two points have my 245 buttons, too. My 735 is way better.
