Watch completely useless for swimming

Today I swam 2100 meters but according to the watch I it was 2950 m. It just registers new laps whenever it feels like.

I guess it is for runners and not for swimmers like the name suggest.

I have had no issues with my 255 in the pool. Did you set the default lap distance in the swim activity?

I have been using the watch for swimming in the last eight months and had no issues with it.

During swimmung it can not measure your distance while the watch is under water, so this is expected behaviour.
Sometimes it will do better, sometimes even worse! (talking about outdoor - in indoors you have to set the distance of the pool and swim that in order to get decent results.
