Forerunner 255 users collected 10,000 signatures for petition to Garmin developers!

Dear Garmin Developers,

As a dedicated user of the Forerunner 255, I am writing to you with a tearful and desperate request. I have been using your smartwatch for years and have grown to love its functionality and features. However, there is one thing that is missing, and it is a crucial feature that is available on more expensive models like the Forerunner 955 and Fenix 7.

I am talking about the hotkeys function. This is a feature that allows users to access their favorite features quickly and easily by using a shortcut. It is a time-saving and convenient feature that has proven to be very useful for me on other Garmin models.

I understand that the Forerunner 255 is a more affordable option and, therefore, may not have all the features of its more expensive counterparts. However, I believe that the hotkeys function is an essential feature that should be available on all Garmin smartwatches.

I beg of you, please consider adding the hotkeys function to the Forerunner 255. It would make a massive difference in my daily use of the smartwatch, and I know other users would also appreciate it.

Thank you for considering my request. Ah, yes, there is no petition, just clickbait for attention.

Sincerely,
Dan

  • 955 are more expensive because they have maps, a touch screen, and much more battery, but not because they have hotkeys, that's some nonsense. I can even understand that the cheaper model may not have some sports due to the lack of some sensors or their innovativeness, but not hotkeys. And I already bought 7s and then 955 model, handed both back because of the size. 255 is just perfect for me.

  • Well, yes, I got less battery, no maps, and no touch screen. I'd like to see your face when you buy an iPhone 14, and for example, there are no widgets on the lock screen and you can't swipe right for the camera and there is no button for the flashlight. Buy the pro version and you will find there the basic functions of iOS. Sounds absurd, doesn't it? And it's not even hard to imagine that Apple could do this kind of thing, but even they don't and Garmin does.

It's because I dont need the pro features and hardware extras. Just a gravel bike sport is just an "yes/no" setting at Garmin backoffice. Pure sales/marketing. No real difference.
