automatic recognition and start of activities?

Is there anywhere an option for this? I have not found anything in the Forerunner 255. I had other Garmin watches in the past, and for instance after 10 minutes of walking it started automatically an activity.

In my case my watch automatically registers such activities (eg. walking), but I can only see them on calendar widget, not activities. You need to have Move IQ enabled in the watch settings.

Thank you, I have read about the Move IQ and it's enabled. But it would be great if an activity is then started on the watch itself. In my former Garmin watch I got a notification and could choose to start or dismiss the recognised activity.

What was your previous Garmin watch, that had this feature? I had 3 different Garmin watches (FR230, FR645M and now FR255M) and none of them had it. All of them records the walking as I described above only (in the calendar, not as activity)

The Vivoactive watches can do this. I always had it turned off, though. I prefer to start my exercise logging manually.

It was one of the Garmin Venu watches. But I think most of them support this automatic detection.
