Watch disconnects BT while starting activities

Since 13.21 firmware, my FR255s disconnects/reconnects BT several times right after starting an activity (multiple notifications pops up) and then it stays connected after a while.

  • Just installed 14.13, the bug is still not fixed...
    What a joke.

  • Same here.
    14.13, bug not fixed :/

    14.13 changelog states:
    "Improves the incident detection logic."

What an irony... detection improved but connection bug still there so there is no way to send a message after an incident :/

  • Good morning. I am here because I encountered the same problem. I got my forerunner 255 a little over a month ago, and got an update (14.13)yesterday. Since the update it disconnects and reconnects BT after starting an activity. And I believe in my case it adds some things to reconnect but not all as data on hr or body battery is not updated while steps are ). The same problem appears after activity is ended (connects and disconnects but in an app its shown as disconnected until it connects after a time (around 10mins)and pairing to upload activity and all the measurements.

I hope the issue would be repaired soon as it's extremely uncomfortable to feel like being in a fight with the tool that is supposed to help you.

    Warm regards

    Anna

I'll use this next time I argue with the Garmin support:)

  • After a few days of testing 14.13, the BT disconnection issue is not only still not fixed, but it even got worse compared to the 13.21: now the disconnections also happen after an activity is stopped, and also randomely, without any activity in progress.
Can you give us an update on this? Why releasing several final versions without fixing this before? Can you reproduce it? Is there a bug fix found? When will be released the fixed?

  •  Do you have any update on this issue?

  • When I had BT issues at some stage I did the following:

    1. "Forget" device in BT settings.

    2. Delete GC app from Phone

    3. Restart watch using the hold light button in until it powers down fully method

    4. Restart Phone

    5. Reinstall GC app and log in

    6. Re-Pair the watch.

    Maybe that can help

  • Does not do the trick.
This advice was already on the beginning of this long thread

  • Sadly this doesn't work on my side.

  • To dokładnie tak jak u mnie
