When starting activities, both altitude
and GPS altitude
fields are always slightly different (5-10m).
In theory, using auto calibration, both fields should be identical at start, and then may diverge.
The difference is not huge, but still, why should altitude
be wrong (or at least different from GPS altitude)
from the very beginning?
Am I alone in that case?
Tested with 12.27 and 13.21.
Edit: tested today at higher altitudes. The initial difference was more than 100m between altitude
and GPS altitude
fields. And I confirm no automatic GPS calibration was done starting the activity.
