FR 255S Music, (12.27) Music stopping during an activity

Using first generation Apple Airpods. Music will be working fine for a few minutes and then stop. I need to reconnect my airpods each time. It's been working fine for months before this, so not sure if it is due to a recent software update or what's going on.

  • I have the same issue with Beats Fit Pro earbuds.
Bluetooth connection to headset is lost sometimes after few seconds or 1-2 minutes. Then I have press play again on the watch after which the watch is searching for headset again. After it has found it music is playing again. Then it stops again after 1-2 minutes or even seconds.
    SW on watch is 12.27.

  • In the other topic since I replied to you, whenever I can, I test the connection between the headphones and the watch. Today, during a walk of nearly 8 km, it stopped only once, but then I could only restart playback by disconnecting the watch and the earphones and then reconnecting them.
For today's test, I turned off the bluetooth on my phone so it wouldn't interfere.
I think that the more people report the problem to support, the more likely it is that if it can be fixed in software, they will do something about it. I've already written to them and got a standard reply, but I'm not going to let it go. Today I wrote to them about my experience above.

  • Yes correct. I’m sure we are not the only ones with this issue. If you look at older models there are massive issues with Bluetooth connectivity with headsets.

  • I've had the same issue.  Not always but at times.  I was about to start a 10k race, paused the airpods so I could hear the gun, pressed play again and connection lost.  Happens on my neighbourhood runs too.  Today they disconnected, I stopped, it still said they're connected on teh watch, but no sound. later on  the run they  shuddered a few times like it was having trouble connecting, but stayed connected.  I wear my watch on left hand and have heard that the BT connection on the Airpods is on the right ear.  That could be the issue?  Very annoying.

  • Same issue here with Beats Studio Buds.

  • Today I did my daily suggested running workout. After aproximately 30 minutes the music suddenly stopped playing. I have tried to fix it while running by hitting play and pause multiple times. The bluetooth connection seemed to be still intact and the music indicator was moving. But nothing came out of my headphones. After I have finished the workout I have tried to figure out what was happening. I switched the bluetooth connection to my headphones manually in the system settings off and on again. After the watch reconnected to the headphones the voice told me pace and heart frequency of my recntly finished workout.  v12.27.

  • I have a problem the same!!! How to solve this annoying problem?

  • Is it still doing samething?i am asking because i want to buy one. I found 255 m is a good choice for my activities without Phone (gps ,music, health condition) and very pleased but if music stop during activities İt is a very big disappointment for me.is there a solution for this issue if i purchase one and encounted with same problem?

  • Still the same after last update.

  • For me, disconnections were happening on 80% of my runs on the previous firmware and sound quality in stereo mode was absolutely horrible. With the latest firmware the issue is rare for me, but just last night after finishing a run, I couldn't stop the music because I couldn't enter the music menu. When long pressing the music button, nothing happened. When short pressing it I correctly got into the "quick apps" menu. Had to shut the watch off and on again to stop the music playing and being able to access music menu again.

If you're after a watch with stable firmware, you'll have to wait. Just read through this forum to get a feel for all the various issues. This watch is still in an unacceptable state six months after release.
