  • Whilst I am running the 955, this is my experience so far:

So far - 24 hours after installing 12.27

    1. Cadence looks in line

    2. Battery is similar to what I was experiencing before (so no additional surprises there). 15% in the 24 hours with one 30 min activity, full multi band (Titanium face and SPO2 overnight), probably more pfaffing on the watch than normal as one tends to test more things after a new install.

    3. Race prediction times seem more in line with reality and probability

    4. The race predicted time  in race widget of mine that was was really out of all reality is now normalised

So far no negative surprises and some of the larger issues seem to be resolved.

Now for the niggles and cosmetics....

  • The biggest issue is the battery drain... non of the fixed issues is as important as that one. i hope that they will find what the problem is because having a watch that wont last an ironman definitely defeats its purpose..

  • Interesting. I haven't had that problem with any of FW versions, 12.23, 12.25 and 12.27. Yesterday evening I updated to 12.27, restarted the watch, filled it up and in roughly 14 hours battery level dropped for 3 %.

  • this is around 5% per day without using any activity with or without GPS (not bad but not ideal for new watch). My watch on running mode for an hour will use more than 10% of its battery which is ridiculous. My FR935 was WAY much more durable...

  • Yes especially for ultra / long activities as you say it definitely wouldn’t last .

  • Hi,

what gps setting do you use? With auto gps select during a 3 hours long hike my went down by 20%.

  • I don't think they understand the battery drain issue yet; I have been sending data to Garmin Product Support and Engineering at their request. But it does not seem that this beta intended to address that in any case. In my own experience, I think it has something to do with changing watch settings (including GPS) using the GCM app. I could replicate the battery drain issue when I used GCM to change watch settings. Now, I just change settings using the watch alone and no more excessive battery drain.

  • Info lactate not works..
