Dear Garmin, I have an idea!

I can imagine how hard it is to release bug free firmware (actually I don't... I really can't think how latest fw moved to release when basic function like cadence doesn't work at all) but when you roll it out and users, sometimes LOTS of users report BUGS immediately, we should get some solution FAST. Why you could ask? Well, I think most of us buy and use Garmin watches for a purpose, we like to analyze those numbers and we like to record our activities. And you know, it can really really be FRUSTRATING when right before some very important race, for which you trained like half a year, your amazing watch updates firmware... and loses some basic abilities, like counting steps, avg speed, gps location etc. You know what they say about backup: there are people who don't make backups and those who will (remember that breach Garmin?). So we need a backup option for this kind of  situations.

I know, you know and all of us here know that you aren't that good with those updates... Just look at all those device specific forums here, almost EVERY release is bugged.

So please, give us an option to ROLLBACK to latest working firmware.

  • I am not defending garmin or the bugs you encountered. I just want make you aware, that automatic software update can be disabled, so you do not risk new software before a race.

  • Yes I know about this, I wanted this update because I was hyped with satiq. But auto updates or the race aren't the problem here. Few times a year we have a device which is being cut out off some features because of buggy software. Garmin fixes them mostly in a weeks timeline rather than days so if they can't do it faster maybe option to manually drop the fw version would be a good solution for people who updated and regret it ;)
