SV 12.23: Forerunner 255 Series Rapid Battery Drain

I've had my watch for a few months and never had a battery drain issue until this morning where I found my battery had drained over 40% last night.  I haven't recorded an activity for a few days so it doesn't seem like it would be related to that.  The only things that have changed recently:

-A few days ago - Auto Updated to SV12.23

-Last night, because of the software update, I decided to change my GPS modes to the new "Auto Select", may be a coincidence but I will have to see if it continues.

-During the night last night I recall once when I rolled over seeing the blankets illuminated because of my watch was backlit, however it should not have been since I have Do Not Disturb on during sleep hours.

    Hi,

    I've been experiencing similar situation (although not so bad). The battery drained by about 40% over 36h with only 1h running. I've this 255 since end of July and never notices such drain. Half of the drain happen over nights while the watch was in Plane mode.

    I didn't change any settings or habit. My watch is 99% of the time in Plane mode as I don't want to get notification. No external devices connected. Software version: 12.23

    I've been experiencing the same situation today morning 11-10-2022 ,the battery drained by about 60% when i awake in the morning. I also experienced gesture turn on the backlight when i am sleeping on 10-10-2022 night, i had to wake up to turn off the backlight during activity for gesture, i suspect SPO2 sleep tracking or something else is register as an Activity during my sleep. Then i wake up today morning 96% battery still left 40%. The software is version: 12.23

    2 day old 255 Music sv 12.27. Battery drained >80% overnight. Reset the watch this morning.

    I experienced a massive battery drain of over 50% during the night. This was not the first time, but definitely the biggest drain so far. In the past weeks I have lost 30 or 40% over night.

    I have owned my 255 since Oct 8th (less than 2 weeks) and already experienced abnormal overnight battery drains twice. ~30% each time. I'm currently on 12.27 and has always been up-to-date.

    After monitoring many different devices, we have not been able to see a rapid battery drain or notice any trends that would contribute to a rapid battery drain.  If you still feel that your device is draining rapidly, please review Forerunner 255 Series Battery Life Assumptions and start a new thread if necessary.
