Weather Location

Hi,

my Forerunner Music is displaying a wrong fixed weather location (Oberpfaffenhofen instead of Munich).

If I change the setting to using telephone positioning, it still shows the wrong, fixed location (Garmin has all the GPS permission)

Does anyone had the same issues?

You can try to turn of and turn on the Watch.

Garmin only uses certain weather stations and not necessarily the one nearest to you. (it used to be your nearest airport)

There is nothing you can do to fix this.

Thank you. Quite annoying.

I was in Spain the other day but the weather still showed the fixed position even though I selected the telephone position. Any clue why the forerunner did not pick up the new destination?

Probably the same issue - the weather station was the nearest source that Garmin uses - weather data is not free, so my guess is that Garmin does not licence data for all stations?

Where I live in England, weather comes from 21km (13 miles) away from my actual home location.

Well, the location was 1,000km in the south compared to the weather location shown.

Anyways, the widget seems to be pretty useless

Agreed.

My low tech 'fix' is just to look out the window instead ;)

Or move to the nearest weather station ;)

It happens regularly that my watch doesn't show any weather information (just "--"). The watch is connected to my phone. Is there anything I can do to trigger loading the weather data?

I tried to document how often the weather station information is just completely wrong, by comparing GC with apple weather or something else. It is pretty much wrong very run i do.
