Forerunner 255 Series: Missing HRV Status and Training Status on watch

Hello all,

We have some reports from some of you stating that you are missing HRV status despite wearing the watch for 21 nights while sleeping.  Others of you have reported that you're missing a Training Stats, despite meeting requirements to establish a Training Status on your watch.  Some of you have reported both of these issues, but in different threads.  We 'd like to investigate these issues together.  If you are experiencing BOTH of these issues, so that I may assist you further, please reply with the following:

  1. May we, if necessary, have permission to email you?
  2. May we, if necessary, have permission to view/access your Garmin Connect account?
  3. In what country do you live?
  • , if you want to check out, my 255S just didn't detect the latest sleep. I can assure you that I've been wearing my watch during the night (as I wear it almost 24/7).

  • Hey .  Thank you for the heads up!  I sent you an email on July 25th.  Please reply to that email with the requested information and add to it screenshots of whatever all of the screens within the Sleep Widget on your watch show.

  • I removed credit card from garmin  pay then:

    1. Removed Forerunner from Garmin Connect app
    2. Removed Forerunner from Bluetooth menu of the watch
    3. Resetted Forerunner to default settings
    4. Re-added Forerunner to Garmin Connect app

now training status is back ... :) I lost one month of training but at least I can see again the status.... hopefully next week will be fine ....

  • I think the whole race prediction/power/FTP calculation is faulty at the moment.

I ran a 10K yesterday and was really struggling towards the end. However race prediction still tells me I will finish 5K and 10K around five to ten minutes faster each.

In addition, even at "close to HR Max" speed, the power graphs show that I am just in zone 2 of 5, not even in the "pace" zone. Somehow the watch seems to think that what feels like a 9 out of 10 effort for me is just 30 or 40 percent of what I'm actually capable of.

  • In addition, even at "close to HR Max" speed, the power graphs show that I am just in zone 2 of 5, not even in the "pace" zone. Somehow

This may be an obvious question but do you know your Running FTP?

I use Runalyze and HR / power correlates very well.

This is from an easy 13mile (21km) run earlier today

  • After reset HRV and Training Status are working. Now after 2 nights there are no HRV recorded. I miss my old 645M watch :-(

  • After reset also my 255 is working fine. I don't like a lot leaving on my wrist 255 during night but last night after reset hrv was recorded. I understood that you need 3 weeks to have hrv status so you have to be patient ... Slight smile

  • That with the 3 weeks i understand. But last night it dont record the hrv. No data for the last night. So much problems with the watch. Thats realy not good.

  • @gragry I had much more problems with 935. They changed GPS firmware during summer and all swim was with bad distance .... I  had to guess my speed and change all the distances .... GPS seems really good for running on 255, for swimming is a little short ...  but I'm happy with it .... maybe next fw will fix some problems ....
