Headphone experience et compatibility

I would like to buy earbuds to use it with my new FR255 Music but I want to be sure that there will be no sound drop. Especially that I wore my watch on my left wrist.

Does anyone have some experience or advice about what's the best headphones for the FR255M ?

Thank you.

  • Very happy with Aftershokz Aeropex. Excellent sound quality. No drops. Fast connection. I wear watch on left wrist.

  • I have several pairs and all have worked fine.

I have recently used the Edifier X6 and MPow M30 and also bluetooth receivers to record audio streams.

The BT range before connection drops is somewhere between 8 and 10 meters.

  • Do they also work well outside? I was having issues with earbuds that lost the signal on one side or both intermittently. I have see some suggestions that music playback doesn't do well outside? Is that your experience?

    Best wishes!

  • I honestly have never had any issues with music playback going from the Fenix 5+, 6 and now the 255. And with several pairs of headphones.

I only use music outside. Watch is wore on the left wrist, but at the moment as I am using a Fenix 6 as well, the 255 is on the right wrist.

  • I wear my watch on my left wrist and have had the music stop transmitting to two different headset styles - JLab Epic & Jabra.  the headsets remained connected and I could control the music selection from the headset but music was not transmitting.  I gave up and returned the 255

  • Look for something with a QCC3020 or 3040 chipset

Seems always the same brands crop.up with connection issues - I've seen very similar posts on the Fenix 6 forums.

Its what is inside that counts - not the branding on the box....think chipset first. With decent chipsets I can walk 8 to 10 meters away from a BT reciever before the connection drops - and they will reconnect immediately without any intervention when I go back in range.

  • Those “low quality” headsets work with my iPhone and iPad.   I think it’s a low quality watch chip set.

  • Hi ), what is the chipset on the beats fit pro? Do they supposed to work with FR255 music? I saw online they equipped with the apple H1 but not sure if that's what you meant

  • They are not exactly earbuds, but an affordable and good headset for sport use that works well with Garmin watches: Miiego AL3+
