Hi,
just got a FR255s music and I wanted to say something good about Garmin.
I own a Fenix 6s Pro and haven't owned a FR245 for a long time, so maybe this is normal to FR245 users. But it wasn't back then.
1.) Airplane Mode like on high end models (wasn't available on FR245 back then at least)
2.) watchfaces are imo all the same as on the FR955. I LOVE that. Even on the Fenix line you got different watchfaces with different models within one series at least till F7 series. I have never seen a cheaper device getting the same (nice) watchfaces. Love the 945 LTE digital/analog watchface which is available here too...
3.) At first glance the smaller 1.1inch display isn't a problem at all. I had diffculties with Venu 2s and Instinct 2s, very small fonts, sometimes almost unreadable, esp on Instinct 2s. Not here. It really seems they stayed with the same font size as the bigger display models and just have less text on one page to read. LOVE THAT. THANKS!!!!
There is barely something on software side missing from the higher end models either. Besides the known like stamina, some activties, climb pro and (unfortunately) hotkeys. THIS I will miss from my Fenix 6s Pro the most. So only the first hours playing with it but at the moment I am very positively surprised what Garmin has done here. OK, price is high, esp compared to the FR955 but you get more stuff for the price, not like trimmed down like it was always the case before.
Only negative thing is I thought the watch would look MUCH smaller then my 6s Pro. Mostly because of less hickness. But it doesn't look MUCH smaller then the 42mm 6s Pro with 1.2inch display. Besides that, very nice indeed.
