I have an FR245 set to Auto Detection for Max HR that I use for running. It has established my MaxHR at 186 for a very long time now.
QUESTION: Is there an easy way to find or determine when or what event/activity is the one that established an auto detected MaxHR?
According to this Garmin article: How Are High Heart Rate and Max Heart Rate Values Calculated on My Garmin Watch - they give instructions on a method for establishing MaxHR by 2 intensive 3 minute runs with the auto detect feature.
It suggests that by doing this activity, if it presumably is higher than the current MaxHR, the MaxHR would be reset. That or maybe if it's higher and you want, you can manually override the auto detected MaxHR with the one you recorded in this activity.
QUESTION: Do MaxHRs ever 'age out'? E.g. if it caught my MaxHR from say years ago and I was younger and more active - perhaps it's no longer valid and should be re-baselined? (or re-auto-detected)
Thanks,
