Frequently disconnecting from my phone - 245 non music

Hello,

My watch often disconnects from my phone, and reconnects by itself.
I've tried everything, reset the watch, the phone but nothing works, I still have the problem.
Everything is up to date, phone (pixel 7 with android 14) and watch 245 non music (v13)
It's been doing it for a few months, I don't know if it's a problem with the watch or with android or my phone...
I've had quite a few updates to the watch in the last year, so maybe this coincides with the problem.
I looked on the internet but couldn't find a solution.
It's a pain, I miss notifications and I sometimes can't change the music on my phone.
Do others have the same problem?
Does Garmin know about this?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

  • J'ai le même problème

je n'ai pas trouvé de solution

  • It might be a problem with Android 14. Since that update my FR245 often shows no connection to my S22. If I unlock my phone it reconnects.

  • Hi, I'm having the same problem with my Garmin 245 no music, bought less than one year ago.

Now when I'm far more than 1 meter the watch disconnects from the iphone 11 and reconnect when I'm very near. Sometimes disconnects anyway even if the mobile phone is in my pocket. As mentioned by Vinc42_ I tried everything- as well : pairing again many times the watch, reset the watch to factory setting, checked if it is updated, switch off and switch on the watch and the mobile without any result. I tried also to connect the watch to another smartphone but without any success.

I have the impression that the bluetooth of the watch has reduced its strength . I use the watch also in the water, could be that water has entered into the watch? It should be waterproof and also suitable for swimming!

  • Dude, this is so true!!

I tried some tests, and thats really that, far more than one metter or smarwatch in the pocket and its lost connection...

    I am wondering the same:

I have the impression that the bluetooth of the watch has reduced its strength

OR maybe just an hardware problem :(((((

    I don't know

I have a friend who got no problem with his smartwatch with the V13 update but his smartwatch is the 245 music

I hope the next update will fix it and thats not a hardware issue.

  • I had exactly the same problem with 55, suddenly the communication range via BT with both the phone and the tablet decreased sharply, i.e. It's clearly a matter of watches.

I bought 245 non music in April last year, updated the software to version 13 as soon as the update came out, so far there are no problems with BT or rapid battery drain.

In my opinion, it is useless to hope for a software update. It is unknown whether it will happen at all and it is not a fact that it will affect the range of the BT.

If there is a guarantee, it is better to take advantage of it.

  • Hello

    Thanks for your answer

Unfortunately, i think u are right and that is a hardware problem.

The warranty is expired so its :(((((((

  • I bought in Dicember 2023 a forerunner 55 for my wife, that in the beginning had the same problem and was new! I Made the reset and the problem seems solved. Now I will send the 245 to the support service because the warrenty is not expired

  • Same issue here. Recently the Bluetooth range on my FR245 has massively degraded. Any more than a metre or so and it disconnects from my phone.

Whilst I'm on Android 14 with my Pixel 6a I tried it with my old Pixel 2 on Android 11 and it has the same issue.

Given my watch hasn't had a software update in ages (version 13.0) I can only assume it's a watch hardware problem.

  • Hi, some of my friends tell me that problems like this appear about after one year in most of forerunner watch. Do someone have this feeling? Mine 245 has now 1 year and the problem is started recently

  • Hi

Mine got the problem after 14 month...
