FR245M Software v11.10 Bugs

I keep getting "Sync Failed" when trying to sync via WiFi.

Searching for WiFi network >> Syncing >> Sync Failed

Restarting the device has not fixed the issue. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

  • Yes, my 245M on 11.10 fails to sync via Wifi as well. Bluetooth syncronization works fine.

when i plug in the charging cable Spotify syncronization starts. But I assume that the wifi issue above is the reason that the spotify sync never progress beyond 0 percent.

It also seems that while the spotify sync is in progress the battery isnt loading. So after a few hours when i expect the watch to be ready to go for a run, the battery isnot charged and the spotify playlists aren’t updated… if i cancel the spotify sync, the battery charge indicator starts ticking up. Until the spotify syncing restarts, which pauses the battery charging…

do you have those issues as well?

  • Unfortunately I cancelled my premium subscription for Spotify. I found the Garmin Spotify app to be lacking a lot of features for something that requires a premium subscription. I use playrun (podcasts only) instead, or just use my phone which saves me the annoying dropouts certain firmware versions have.

Regarding the sync issue, seems like it's an old issue that has reared its head again:

Oh, and it seems like Garmin has a big hand in developing the Spotify app considering that it shares the same sync process that activity syncs use.

  • Syncing via wifi, as well as Spotify syncing, works for me now.

  • Thanks, I just tried it out, worked for me as well. I guess I can once again save battery life by switching off bluetooth on both my phone and watch.
