Forerunner 245 battery drain after recent Garmin update. Anyone else having same issue?

After the 9.60 software update, I noticed that I was also getting unexpected battery drain - about 1% of battery per hour when I was not using the watch.  I also noticed that the watch was disconnecting from my iPhone

After the 9.60 software update, I noticed that I was also getting unexpected battery drain - about 1% of battery per hour when I am not using the watch.   I also noticed that the watch was disconnecting from my iPhone much more frequently.  At night I leave my phone downstairs and my watch upstairs - before 9.60 software the watch would not disconnect from the phone, but with 9.60 that is enough distance for it to disconnect.  In fact I can be just a few feet away from my phone and the watch will disconnect and then reconnect.

I am wondering if there was a change to Bluetooth such that it is disconnected and wasting battery trying to reconnect.  I took note of my battery this afternoon and made sure to keep my watch close to my phone and in 6 hours the battery went down only 1%.  I am going to try an experiment where I leave my watch with my phone overnight and see if the 1% per hour battery drain goes away.

It turned out that even leaving my watch right next to my phone overnight didn’t fix the problem. Next experiment is to wear watch to bed.
