i can make an assumption that the current firmware broke the ohr 24/7 and it gives you spikes. downgrade to a firmware prior to the introduction of the breathing rate and it should be fine. i think it is either 3.3 or 3.1. not sure. look at the firmware history
Spikes are generated with external FC, because of a bug in 4.40.
when the device vibrates, it loses the HR link...
We had a huge exchange about that (and also about downgrading) here: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-245-series/220045/unstable-connection-with-hrm-run
I do not think he was talking about using an external strap. just using the plain ohr from the wrist. I have seen this issue reported in the fenix 6 thread.
BIG mess with Forerunner 245 HRM big time. Mine is giving me the same some high heart rates (abnormal with the alarm going ON) even when watching TV and not operating the remote control LOL. It's been a week or some probably since one of the last firmware update (which BTW it is up to date). Hope we see a fix SOON !
Downgrade to 3.10 and you'll be fine.
Yes, i think you have to upgrade to a firmware higher than 3.10 and then downgrade. I do not think you can just upgrade to 3.10 direct. Look at that
