Audio Prompts during a run.

Regarding: Audio Prompts during an activity (Running) Garmin Forerunner 245 Music

Current Capabilities: Audio Prompts during a run used with Lap alert. Which just gives you an audio update for just that lap.

Suggestion: I hate looking at my watch to see what my current progress is, it's distracting. There should be an option where I can choose what audio prompts I want to hear and I can choose any frequency (distance or Time) to hear them. So what should happen when I set my watch to give me an audio prompt of my current pace, heart rate, elapsed time so far, and distance ran so far at every .50 mile. For example: At the 1.5 mile mark; I should hear current heart rate, current average pace, total distance ran so far (1.5 miles, not .50 miles for the third time), and total elapsed time running so far (not the time I ran for that last .50 miles.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch does this exactly.

I've messed with the settings and researched the manuals, I've tried everything to get the audio prompts to functions as mentioned above.

Garmin Community, let me know If I'm missing something.

If it is not possible, that's surprising. Am I really the only person that never looks at their watch during a run and relies on audio prompts to keep me updated of my total progress?

  • you are right,,,, incredible,,,, and nobody says anythng

  • I am pretty surprised there is no possibility to set audio prompt saying cumulative elapsed time, e.g. "5 minutes", then "10 minutes" etc, 15, 20 25.

All i was able to get is "5 minutes" every 5 minutes, which makes no sense at all.

Thinking i am missing something, but after reading this post - it looks like this *very basic* functionality isn't available.

Could this be anyhow passed to Garmin support?

    device: ForeRunner 245 Music.

  • Hi 9934712, did you get an answer to this question?  I have the new 745 connected to Bluetooth headphones and the audio prompts don't tell me how long I've been running for and the distance is always 1.0...it doesn't make sense that a high quality watch doesn't have the same audio prompts as what people are used to on other watches and apps similar to Strava?

  • Hi.

I ended up setting the half-time alert, i.e. at 20 minutes it tells "turn around". and then "go home" alert at 40 minutes.

Didn't manage to get anything better, sadly.
