Forerunner 245 Series Elevation No Longer Displaying?

Elevation No Longer Displaying?

I have a couple questions about my new 245 but will ask them in separate threads to keep the topics clean. First is: I am using the watch face Four Fields: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/568d44f3-b607-4db8-a57a-9368acdc144c I have the lower left field set to show elevation. It was working fine for the first few days. Now that field only shows 4 horizontal lines and the ^ elevation symbol. It will no longer show the actual elevation. I do not think I changed any setting that would have turned the elevation off but I am not 100% sure. In any case I can not find a setting that seems like it would control elevation display. Any ideas on what may have happened or how I can get the elevation to display again? Thanks!

Does elevation display in the Garmin Widget? If so, contact the developer of the watch face and let them know what you're experiencing. Did you recently update to FW 4.10 when the problem started?

I am not sure how to check? Is the widget you refer to factory installed or something to download from Connect IQ?

I do have the latest FW update but the elevation stopped displaying before that installed.

Garmin has it's own altimeter widget. You may have to add it using GCM or with Express. There are also developer widgets that display altitude you can download in the IQ store.

OK. Thanks. I thought you were referring to something preinstalled. I will go to the Connect store and get the Garmin widget and report back.

It is preinstalled. You probably just have to add it to your widgets using GCM or Express.

What is it called. I look in the connect app and I can see a bunch of widgets, some installed and some not. But I don't see one that seems to have a name that would point to elevation or altitude monitoring?

Yes, Android. I go into the app on my phone, go to Devices> Forerunner 245>Appearance>Widgets. And there I see the list of widgets. Is that the correct place?

Yes. No green widget called "Altimeter"?

No. There is a long list but not that one. Only green ones are Notifications and Performance. If it is supposed to come pre-intalled, is it possible that I could have somehow completely removed it? I sure would not have done that purposefully but maybe somehow mistakenly?
