Cant change music volume

Former Member
Former Member

Hello,

I hot a FR 245 Music and since I did not have BT earphones before I got a pair and they work with the watch but the music volume is always at max level even if I try to reduce it using the watch controls. The earphones dont have volume buttons so it is just the FR245 in control and the music is painfully laud..

I tried using the earphones with my phone and they work fine regulating the music level. Also I tried connecting to my Bluetooth home speaker and I cant change its volume level using the watch either.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Edin

Hi, thank you for your suggestions but, yes, I did update the 245 Music and the Powerbeats Pro recently. I didn't put 2+2 together but I believe I've fallen prey to the problem mentioned by RunRuN1559321. The volume control on the Beats stopped working after the latest firmware update. I'll try reverting the FR245M to an earlier firmware version - as soon as I figure THAT out.

I have the same issue. Max volume and can't change it on device. Please fix that. How do I revert to previous firwmware. The watch is unusable with only max volume. :(

  • Same issue as OP with firmware meanwhile at 4.10. Reverting to 3.10 hardly seems an option anymore.

    • With a pair of TWS i9s (“fake” earpods), the volume controls appear as a plus and a minus which turn green when up/down buttons are pressed; but volume stays at max whatever you try.
    • With a pair of genuine apple earpods, in contrast, the volume controls are now two speaker icons with more and less waves coming out, and a vertical bar fills up when increasing volume.

I have the same issue with firmware 4.2 and x1t mini in-ear headphones. If this can't be fixed I will have to return the watch.

I managed to downgrade to firmware 3.1. Still doesn't work to change volume.

I have the same issue... jbl earphones and a new FR245 MUSIC!! But now I cant even listen to the music due to this problem. Im stuck taking my phone on my run. Please Garmin solve this!

  • I have tried with several earphones: Apple Airpods work OK, Shure SE-215-BT2 work OK, $20 ear pods have this issue. It has to be sometime with the Bluetooth version, and it seems Garmin has not provided an answer. It seems that Garmin doesn't want us to use cheap ear pods.
