Lap button triggering by itself

All of a sudden in my last three runs, a lap has triggered without my touching the watch. On all these runs I was following a Gamrin Training plan scheduled workout. I would rather not disable the button as I like having the option of finishing cetain training sections earlier or later. At first I thought I must have hit it accidentally but yesterday my hands weren't anywhere near the watch and the issue happenned again

Has anyone else had this problem? any idea of what is happenning?

Thanks all

  • I've had three successful interval workouts without extra laps triggered when I don't play music with the Spotify app at the same time. It seems like a problem (at least for the 245M) where it doesn't have enough spare processing power with Spotify running to trigger the laps quickly enough and somehow it ends up triggering two laps. At least this is a workaround until a proper fix is released.

  • Have you tried the 2.94 with Spotify on to see if the issue still happens?

Has anyone found a successful route to avoiding the lap issue?

  • Don't play music from the Spotify app at the same time as a workout. This has worked consistently for me. If you don't have a 245M, you might have to wait for the 2.94 (or later) patch.

I have the 245M but haven't had success installing the 2.94 beta update. I dropped the files where the instructions told me to, but the watch won't update when I disconnect it from my computer.

  • F**** I bought a jbl contour II few days ago. Today I used them for the first time with my 245m. Music stopped after one song and not possibility to restart it until the end of the workout. I disconnect and reconnect the jbl during the workout and the watch statted to enumerate laps without ended the step. Strange behavior. And my "-" button is not working...

I hope garmin will fixe that rapidly...

  • I have the exact same problem with the Vivoactive 3 Music, and I've seen people with other forerunner watches (for example 945) too with the exact same problem. I emailed Garmin Support twice about it, but still no answer or solution. I hope this gets fixed soon, it's a basic functionality that should work flawless. Now it's really annoying how it can mess up interval trainings.
