Since the last update, the watch has become unusable: no longer sleep tracking, steps are no longer counted and the heart rate is completely inconsistent
We are rolling out SW v27.10 for the Forerunner 165 series, which addresses the data dropout issues described in this thread. You can manually download this software update by selecting Menu > System >…
I also have issues in both outdoor run activities where gps is all over, no step tracking, heart rate off. FR165 27.09. Problems came as soon as updated.
When i start a run, the start is delayed and when…
And this is exactly why Garmin ought to support firmware downgrades.
Even if it requires a convoluted hands-on method, at least give us the option of being able to get back to a functioning watch again…
I’m seeing similar issues. Forerunner 165 on v27.09 and I’ve gone through all the usual steps: Garmin Express update/sync, restarts, and full factory resets.
Heart rate data is still all over…

I am extremely disappointed with the HR tracking on my watch. During today’s walk, I maintained a consistent pace throughout the entire session. However, at the 10-minute mark, the heart rate graph shows a sudden drop to 60 BPM, where it stayed until the very end of the workout.
It seems the sensor is completely unreliable for training if it can’t handle a steady-state walk. Has anyone else experienced this "flatline" issue at low heart rates? This issue started occurring after updating to firmware version 27.09
I’m having same exact issues since the updateHR will work every now and then, sleep tracing the last few nights captures 1-2 hours of sleep, step tracking wildly in accurate. Restarting the watch does nothing. Would be nice if there was a way to reload the older software version.
