I have a Fenix 5x plus & old half dead HRM RUN strap which has served me well for years

HRM 600 after having HRM Run (with advanced metrics) is a joke lacking backwards compatibility with older devices which function fine with the older advanced run metrics. I bought this for Christmas and am very frustrated and disheartened by Garmin on this product, it has made my running go backwards??? What are the chances they will fix this for the older watches like Fenix 5x plus etc?

    To reply to myself and then you want else reading this post 

    I managed to connect the hrm 600 to my Garmin Fenix 5x + in a forced ant plus mode 

    - first forget everything on your phone and on your watch so that there are no connections and the sensors 

    - then start with the hrm sensor in three flash mode which is open Bluetooth and ANT plus mode - to get to three flash mode three green flashes that is you double press the button and it will occillate between two flash mode or three flash mode three flash mode is what you want then long press the button on the sensor to get it into pairing mode which will start a flashing purple led 

    - on your watch get ready to add a new sensor but at the same time cover your hrm monitor with your body or your hand for the first couple of seconds so that the Bluetooth has trouble getting through to the watch and the ANT + gets through the watch first

    - and that should basically do it all your normal run metrics including the left right balance and vertical oscillation should be there
