my HRM-Tri belt consumes too many batteries !

Hello everyone,

my HRM-Tri belt connects perfectly with a new battery, the data is good but on the other hand the battery only lasts two running sessions of half an hour each.
The battery goes from 3.2V new to 2.6V after two sessions.
I have already used 4 new batteries in 10 days. Have you already had the problem and if so, how to fix it?
THANKS
  • Sounds like a hardware problem. Does the electronics warm up unusually, when you enter the new battery?

    how to fix it?

If the strap is still under warranty (which I doubt, since it is a 10 years old model), then request a replacement. If not, then there is not much you could do. You could try cleaning the inside of the electronics with some isopropyl alcohol, but I do not quite believe it helps, unless there is really a lot of dirt or moisture causing a shortcut. You could also try resetting the device by inserting the battery in the inverse sense for a few seconds, though I also do not believe it helps. Well, TBH, I think is the time to buy a new HRM strap.

  • Maybe there is some water inside. We had the same problem a few days ago. There was water inside causing a short and the new battery was empty within 3 days.

  • Thank you for your response, I think I have the same problem with my belt. When I put a tissue in the battery compartment, it came out a little damp. I'm going to let it dry for a few days with the lid off.
  • when I put a piece of tissue in the battery compartment, it came out a little wet. I'm going to let the open compartment dry for a few days.
  • Cross the fingers that it will work. In my case, there was already to much corrosion inside.
