HRM600 Skin irritation?

I have been using the HRM 600 for about one month now.

I use it daily for a minimum about one and a half hours per day.

I have just noticed that I have some skin irritation and small scabs forming in the middle of my chest under where the heart rate module rests.

I have used Garmin HRM straps for over 10 years with various versions of the HRM, HRM run, HRM tri, HRM pro HRM swim etc.

Never before have I had any skin issues.

Has anyone else noticed this?

  • Not me, but I use the strap a bit less. It comes likely due to the bigger size and weight of the sensor, causing it to bounce more than the predecessors. Although I do not have any irritation under the sensor self, I do experience some of it under the buckle (on the right size, under the arm). However that was the case with all straps I used. I found that greasing the plastic lip under the buckle with a bit of medical vaseline before the run, greatly reduces the irritation, so perhaps you can try that under the sensor body, too.
