Hello!
I have an Epix Gen 2. I always run with a normal HRM chest band. I am wondering if its worth it upgrading to an HRV chest band. If so, what improvements can I expect while training and afterwards?
Thanks!

All chest HRM's transmit realtime HRV (interbeat intervals) BUT some of the cheaper sensors do not do it exactly right, they derive HRV from BPM per second (some even per 2 or 5 seconds) so the very subtle…
However, I would not wash any strap in a machine, regardless whether it is detachable or not. There are fine wires and contacts in all of them, so a brief rinsing after each use, and a gentle hand-wash…
Reacting to the obviously commercially motivated post by 552705: The OP was asking about a chest strap HRM. The Fitbit Charge 6 is a wrist-worn device with an optical HR sensor, making it unlikely to perform…
It looks like the HRM pro is good enough for me, would you recommend the HRM 600 instead?
I have both of them. Generally HRM 600 has many advantages - rechargeable battery, USB interface, detachable/washable strap, more metrics, enhanced standalone functionality,...
Its disadvantage is its bigger size (may cause problems at some contact sports), and higher weight, which has negative impact for example on the Ground Contact L/R Balance. Also as it is new, there are still some minor connectivity issues with in the encrypted mode.
I would probably recommend HRM 600, since the expected life of HRM Pro at intensive use is some 2-3 years before the strap and the contacts disintegrate. The design of HRM 600 promises a longer life span.
The band of the HRM pro isn't detachable? If you want to wash it, you wash the whole thing or you cannot machine wash it?
Thanks

Right
However, I would not wash any strap in a machine, regardless whether it is detachable or not. There are fine wires and contacts in all of them, so a brief rinsing after each use, and a gentle hand-wash once a week or two is all they need.
