HRM 600 Avg GCT Balance off?

Has anyone else experienced a consistent ground contact time average that is outside the expected norm with the HRM 600? I've owned several straps (HRM Pro, HRM Pro Plus) and have used the Stryd pod, and my avg GTC Balance is always within 1% of 50/50, but since I began using the HRM 600 last week, it's off 3-4+% every single time. I have made sure to position it correctly on my chest, to no avail. A typical comparison with a similar run:

  • I’ve been fighting with Garmin for months over problems with their HRM600 and GCT balance. They finally said (two email replies):

Yes, the data may appear to be measured/calculated differently, but this does not necessarily mean that the device is recording incorrectly.

From our testing, we have noticed that due to the difference in weight when compared to another HRM, and how the device is worn in comparison to the RD pod, This may affect how the GCT & GCTB are recorded.  Yes, the data may appear to be measured/calculated differently, but this does not necessarily mean that the device is recording incorrectly.  The only variable we could identify and which a user may manipulate is the weight of the device and how tightly it is worn, compared to a HRM, such as the Pro or Pro+.

So they’re suggesting that the 600 data is “wrong but not incorrect”, which I think this shows a fundamental design flaw in the HRM 600. It’s just too heavy to work and isn't going to get fixed.

  • hahaha what a joke product.

Incorrect readings, removing the hrm from the strap is almost impossible and price to the roof.

    Good job garmin
