How comfortable is HRM Swim for cycling or running?

I understand the HRM Swim can be worn for other activities like biking or running, but it's less comfortable. there have been posts here saying as much, e.g.

Has anyone here used the HRM Swim for land activities and can elaboarate on "less comfortable"? How does that feel, how does it affect you? Some posts say "the Swim tends to chaff":

Sounds potentially painful. Is it really that bad?
