HRM Dual Low/Critical battery warning on every new battery

Hi All,

I read few posts about bad battery life in HRM Dual, my died after 10min workout when I saw low battery message, I bit disappointed as tought it should last 1h session.

According to Garmin battery should last about 3.5 year, I bought device 13 September and died 30 November about 1h use every day, so looks like my strap is the one with battery life problem.

What is different, I have replaced battery, tried 3 ikea batteries, then brand new philips, they all show low or critical battery level when strap connected to garmin edge 1040 or my epix but, I did reverse polarity method, as not found any other way how to restart HRM, did not help. Finally I have tested all batteries using multimeter, ikea 3.3V, philips 3.2V so definitely they are good.

Not sure what I can do more, there is so many topics saying even replaced strap have the same problems, should I save some time and just ask for refund?

  • should I save some time and just ask for refund?

    Or a replacement.

  • There is absolutely no warranty if replacement will be ok as proven on many posts, people got replacement and after a while they behave the same. There is no online chat for low value sensors, mean garmin is not taking seriously those devices.

I decided to go with refund, and try with other brand like polar, maybe more luck this time, time we tell.

That’s not quite true. There are many posts across the Garmin range where out of warranty replacements have been provided by Garmin and have worked fine, including straps. Unfortunately there is some inconsistency but generally speaking it’s always worth contacting Garmin Support. If you don’t ask you definitely won’t get. If you do ask you might be pleasantly surprised.

There are also many posts prove opposite.

Unfortunately Garmin has no chat option for this HRM sensor, maybe to low value to bother don't know. I don't have time to waste 2-3 weeks on emails, to follow a procedure what I have already done.

Anyway, HRM Dual returned, Polar H10 on its way.
