Wheel Speed Sensor on Rohloff Hub - How?

I'm soon upgrading from standard hub to a Rohloff and wondering if there is any ideas about fitting the speed sensor to a Rohloff hub?

Or alternative ANT+ wheel/speed sensors (to talk to Garmin 1040)

Unfortunately can't move to front wheels as the hub is too narrow for the sensot (its a recumbent with 20" front wheels).

Thanks

Ian

  • Hey!

I have a similar problem as yours. I just got a new bike. In the front I have a dynamo hug, so I can't install there because the side and the magnets of the dynamo. In the rear I have a Rolhoff. How are you suppose to mount this on the Rolhoff with this tiny rubber band? I don't know why they don't offer the rubber band in different sizes or at least provide a decent extensor.

I would appreciate any ideas beyond the "you can chain several o-rings"… which for me looks suboptimal.

  • I use a 3-158 EPDM o-ring along with the included rubber casing on a Rohloff hub, and it works well.
