Garmin watch turns on GPS for running, and the distance doesn't use the data of Bluetooth pedometer, so I have to turn off GPS.

The following test can prove that GARMIN Watch starts running with GPS after connecting with Bluetooth footpod, and does not refer to the distance data of Bluetooth footpod, so I have to turn off the GPS and start running. I hope you can make adjustments in this article so that Garmin Watch can use the distance data of Bluetooth footpod when connecting with Bluetooth footpod and starting GPS.

Test 1: (1) Prepare a Bluetooth footpod

(2) and connect Polar VM2 (Treadmill mode)

(3) and Garmin 255 (start GPS, run and start automatic calibration).

Test data (distance): Polar VM2: 0.50 km Jiaming 255: 0.05 km.

Conclusion: The distance of Garmin watch does not refer to this Bluetooth footpod.

Test 2:

(1) Prepare a Bluetooth footpod

(2) and connect Polar VM2 (Treadmill mode)

(3) and Garmin 255 (start GPS, run and turn off automatic calibration).

 Test 2(Distance): Polar VM2: 2.72 km

Garmin 255: 0.18 km.

Conclusion: Garmin watch distance does not refer to this Bluetooth footpod.

Test 3: (1)Stryd connected with Garmin 255(ant+ connected with footpod, turned on GPS, ran and turned off automatic calibration)

 (2) Bluetooth footpod connected with Polar VM2 (treadmill mode)

Test data (distance): Polar VM2: 1.00 km Garmin 255: 1.00 km.

Test conclusion :Garmin watch's distance is quoted from Stryd.

  • On the Stryd you can set it to be used for speed and distance, off/always/indoor. When set to Indoor and Treadmill/Virtual Run or indoor track activity, it can use this device for speed/distance.

  • 以上实验可以证明,Garmin 手表与蓝牙通讯连接的计步器之间的距离并非指蓝牙步速器(距离和速度始终设定)。
