HRM Pro Plus Strap Creases

I just bought a new HRM Pro Plus and it has creases after the first use. I have an old HRM 1G that I have had for about 10 years and the strap has never done this. I saw a couple of other posts but they are both closed for discussion with no resolution other than contact customer service. I am concerned this strap is not going to hold up very well and may not be worth keeping. I have a Fenix 5 and think maybe go with the Fenix 7 and use the old strap or no strap. Looking for others' input on the HRM Pro Plus.

Same happened with mine. Does Garmin replace the bands in this situation?

I get these every now and then particularly after a few sea swims. Rub some soap in the strap. Fold it like a ribbon back on itself (not the pads) and squeeze across the flat ribbons under warm water. Rinse thoroughly. Basically it gives the strap a good clean. I’ve had the same strap for a couple of years now without problem.
