Tracking swimming workout - Verity Sense

Hello guys, as the title says is there a way to properly tracking swimming workout using Verity Sense and getting all the related Garmin metrics such as Training Load/Effect/Readiness etc...?

Long story short, after trying either my FR265 and HRM-Pro-Plus i regret using both for tracking swimming. They lacks of either accuracy and consistency...especially after i compared them with Verity Sense by Polar. I think its the most accurate in getting hearth rate due to the fact is it placed in my temple and is very steady. But here comes the issue, i can track the workout correctly but it gets imported to Polar Flow, i don't find a way to start the activity on the Garmin watch and save stored HR from the Verity Sense. Is there a way to overcome this?

Using it as an external sensor would probably made the HR not consistent due to drop in connection, when the sensor is under water (even if i keep the watch outside). Would that compromise is enough to get "accurate" training data? Even though i don't find a way to "force" connection using ANT+ instead of BLE...does the watch would automatically switch to ANT+ once BLE gets out of range?

There is no way to calculate training load/effect and update readiness accordingly from an imported activity? I guess they are all calculated using HR...

Lastly, this is for Garmin's support member, any plan in releasing a similar sensor of the Verity Sense?

  • You need a HRM-Pro or Swim or Tri to store and download HR data after a swim AFAIK. Garmin watches can receive data from other 3rd party sensors connected during an activity but not during a swim. I have found in recent months that WHR during the swim is pretty close to the strap on most occasions.

any plan in releasing a similar sensor of the Verity Sense

Garmin do not comment on future product plans.
