HRM Dual won't connect to Android Garmin Connect app.

Hey,

I just picked up a Garmin HRM Dual. I've tried to get it to connect to the Garmin Connect app on my android phone. The only two choices I have for HRM are HRM-Pro or HRM-Pro Plus. If I choose either of these the app searches for them then comes up and says it has detected an HRM Dual. When I choose connect, it tries, but comes back with an error that says failed to connect.

Any ideas?

Also, any suggestions on mabye using a different app? I don't have a smart watch, only and edge 800 which is fine for riding but when I'm doing hiking or other workout training, I'd rather just use my phone.

I don't think it's crazy since the app is Garmin Connect Mobile, its job is to connect Garmin's devices to Garmin's cloud to sync data. It's not an activity tracker app. You might argue that it's crazy…

You need to use another app. The Garmin Connect app won't connect to the HRM-Dual directly.

Thanks much....that's kinda crazy but it is what it is...

Any app suggestions? Mainly looking for HR monitoring and time/speed/pace/route.

It's not an activity tracker app. You might argue that it's crazy Garmin doesn't have a sports tracker app, but considering that they sell hardware for that, maybe not.
