HRM Pro Plus: active calories burned during daily activity significantly higher than without belt

Hello everybody,

I (male; approx. 80kg) recently purchased a HRM Pro Plus as a companion to my Forerunner 255. Both have the most current software.

On a normal office day my watch (without belt) states that I burn around 250-300 calories actively (mainly walks to and from office, walks inside office building; usually around 9.000 steps on a day) according to the watch. Only if I do workouts, I reach values of 900 calories in addition to my non-active calories.

Yesterday, for the first time, I wore my HRM Pro Plus WITHOUT my watch to see if the tracking and update work once I connect belt with watch and mobile again. The update in regard of steps and energy level seemed plausible but the HRM Pro Plus claimed, I had burned over 900 calories actively, although I had not worked out and only reached 9000 on that day. I had NOT started any exercise tracking via the watch before putting the watch aside. This is not plausible to me. My day was like any other office day and the belt claims, I have burned 3x as much active calories.

Anybody share the same experience? Which device is more accurate or plausible? Any solution or work-around?

Thank you
