Calories burned inside and outside an activity

I have a problem, when I use my watch daily, doing chores and whatnot, my Instinct 2 Solar Tactical calculates calories burned through these movements. The only problem is that if I do the exact same things but I have an activity running all day, don’t think it matters which one, i burn double if not three times as many calories according to my watch. I can’t help but wonder which is the more accurate method. I don’t care if it burns through the battery, I want accurate results.

So, my question is then: What can I do in these situations to get the most accurate readings out of my watch in terms of calories burned and such things? Does it matter which activity I have turned on if that’s the resulting answer and if so, why? Are the algorithms full of assumptions because they don’t have all the sensors and if so, what can I do to make them more accurate?

    Interesting topic!

I have a similar issue: when I wear my chest belt HRM Pro Plus without my watch, the calories burned is much higher than usual, although I did not even start an exercise. Maybe the system thinks I am doing a workout, but leaving my watch behind. In this case I would have the same issue as you.
