I have used a HRM-Run on a Polar soft strap for ages, it always worked great, but the strap wore out after a good number of years, so I ordered a new one, directly from Polar. It turned out Polar has changed both design and quality. It has to be worn very tight to avoid the clasp getting dislodged during running and a hard rough seam presses into the skin. It also wears quickly and chafes at the edges. The unpleasant rubber smell that does not become less over time is not that big of an issue.
I tried a couple no-brand replacement straps, they were not good. So I was thinking of either the Polar H10 replacement strap (the expensive one with the extra anti-slip dots for H10) or the Garmin brand HRM-3 soft strap. Both are a bit expensive, so I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with quality and durability of either of these. Or another brand that's really good. Would appreciate your thoughts.
