Instinct HR strap how to tell it is connected

Instinct 2 Solar used to tell me briefly when starting a running activity that chest HR was connected, now no longer does so. Only way I can tell is to faff around and go into settings menu. Had a few chest HR battery problems and was not aware. How do I tell where HR data is from? What does the heart symbol at the top of the screen mean?

  • If your Garmin Instinct 2 Solar watch is no longer providing a notification that your chest HR monitor is connected, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

First, ensure that the HR monitor is properly attached and positioned on your body. If it is loose or not in the correct location, it may not be able to accurately track your heart rate.

Next, check the settings on your watch to ensure that the HR monitor is properly configured. Navigate to the "Sensors & Accessories" menu and select "Heart Rate." Make sure that the "Auto" option is selected Indoor and Outdoor Pickleball, which should automatically detect and connect to any available HR monitors.

If you are still having trouble determining where the HR data is coming from, you can check the "Heart" symbol at the top of the watch screen. This symbol indicates that your watch is currently tracking your heart rate. If the symbol is solid, it means that the watch is using the built-in optical sensor to track your heart rate. If the symbol is hollow, it means that the watch is using an external HR monitor, such as the chest strap.

If you continue to experience issues with your HR monitor or are unsure about the accuracy of your heart rate data, you may want to contact Garmin customer support for further assistance.
