Garmin HRM Dual stuck at 0 BPM

The Garmin HRM Dual is stuck at 0 BPM using both the Strava and Polar Beat apps. Both apps succesfully connect to the HRM Dual via bluetooth. The problem initially arose as the monitor got 'stuck' for a few minutes at a given BPM (i.e. The Strava App would display exactly 152 BPM for over a minute). To address this, I changed the batttery. After changing the battery, the BPM displayed is always 0.

So far I have tried using a different app, performing a reverse polarity reset, letting the HRM sit without a battery installed for 15 minutes, and disconnecting and reconnecting the device to my phone via bluetooth. Absolutely nothing has worked.

  • Unless I am wrong you need a Garmin Device to get data from the strap.

  • Philip:  My Garmin HRM-Dual (really any Garmin strap (or wahoo or polar for that mater) will work with most any device/treadmill/spinbike/app that records with ANT+ or Bluetooth.  So yeah it should work...

9837: Seems like something went wrong with the sensor.  Does it show up at all on watch or is it 'searching'?  Have you contacted support, usually they are really good with HRM strap issues and helping.
