I have a fenix 7 SS and have bought a HRM pro plus to try to remove cadence lock but with no luck. Any ideas?

I've recently bought a fenix 7 SS but get cadence lock. I therefore bought a HRM pro plus in the hope of removing the cadence lock but it doesn't appear to go away. The strap appears connected but the HR of the watch isn't being overwritten by the strap. Any ideas?

Have you paired the strap to the watch in Sensors and Accessories?

Yep, that's done and it's showing as connected

Data form the strap are send to watch only during activity.
Start your run activity, and then check what data you will have in recorded activity.
Second thing, is strap connected to watch via ANT+ or BT, to receive all data you need to habe ANT+ connection.

Heart rate will be transmitted with either ANT+ or BT when active. In either case, the watch should automatically switch to the strap when an activity is started while wearing the strap. You need ANT+ connection if you also want running dynamics and running power as well as HR data. The default is ANT+ so if you've not changed anything after you connected the watch to the strap that's what it will be. Check in Sensors and Accessories.

Thanks both. I've done everything you've suggested but my heart rate is still going up to 200 BPM and is consistently at 180bpm when on an easy run which indicates cadence lock... Hmm

Maybe it is just faulty sensor.
Did you cantacted with Garmin Support?
