Huge differences in HR

Noticed this a few times now hrm pro shows high heart rate, my fr955 will show about 80. Edge 530 or tacx will show what hrm pro is suggesting but once uploaded GC shows 20bpm under on heart rate but shows in activity 20 more to heart rate screen

  • If you are talking about the bottom images "High 127bpm" versus what was seen in activity, I always get this as well!

Like today for me, my run clearly had numerous peaks of 140-144bpm for more ~80-90seconds (with strap HRM-Dual) and on my daily graph it says High 140 ?!?!  I don't know why they do that, and it isn't even a requirement to have a high HR for a certain amount of time, because there have been times when I have done long intervals running... still doesn't use the average of that peak or anything... not sure what it uses.

  • I queried this behaviour years ago. The 24 hour heart rate graph shows average HR within each two minute period. Click anywhere on the graph and you will see the two minus interval and the HR average for that two minutes. This is how the information is logged in the watch.

I don't know why Garmin Connect can't pick out your actual max of an activity recording something higher, but the max shown here is your average max for two minutes, not your absolute max that day.
