Can Garmin HRM pro count steps?

Can the HRM pro be used to count steps? I've just started a job that involves a lot of walking but I can wear a watch which normally counts my steps

Where does one go to view the number of steps counted by the HRM-Pro?

It shows you the number of steps in the Garmin connect app and also on the watch once you sync it

I see; so you're wearing only the HRM-Pro during the day without a watch, and then syncing later to see the data and/or viewing the data in real-time in Garmin Connect

Yeah I can't wear a watch at work, so I use the HRM pro then sync once I get home. It's worked great so far too. It also syncs your steps with myfitnesspal if you use that app too

That's why I was confused, because the post said "...but I can wear a watch which normally counts my steps"!

So I was wondering how you could tell which steps were counted by the watch vs HRM-Pro if wearing both.
