HRM Pro running dynamics at beginning of run

I have recently bought the HRM Pro (paired with Fenix 7). The issue I have is that for the first 1-2 minutes if my run, the running dynamics are not recorded. Is this normal? Iv tried reconnecting to both phone and watch, and yes the strap is being worn the correct way. Thanks.

  • Is the strap wetted before use?

  • Yes, sure is. The watch detects it and its all connected, and heart rate is working fine. Just running dynamics

  • What software on the watch? If not latest perhaps update. 

  • Thanks. Yes I am running latest software on both Fenix 7 and HRM Pro. Not running the Alpha release so ots not that either. Still a mystery to me. It did it again for me today on my treadmill run

  • I have the same issue with mine HRM-Pro and Fenix 7X, sometimes it starts from beginning, sometimes need almost 2 minutes to start collect these data, unpredictable.
    I’ve installed new beta to my Fenix and did one run and so far looks better, recording started from beginning.

    Previously I’d used this strap with Fenix 6X and never had such issue.
    I saw couple people reported this issue on this forum.

  • Might be best to contact Garmin Support. I don't run on a treadmill so my outcomes might well be different. My outdoor runs using the strap have the running dynamics recording correctly.

    Might it be something to do with the way you move at the beginning of the run? (Me clutching at straws)

    I think HRM Pro starts broadcasting Running Dynamics when cadence >70 for some seconds, otherwise  assumes it a walk, and there aren't walk dynamics.

  • HRM_Pro brodcating data whole the time, I’m doing intervals walk/run and have all data.
    Problem appeares only with Fenix 7, I had previously Fenix 6 and everything was fine.
    And finally after two runs so far with new beta on my Fenix 7 I don’t see this issue anymore, I hope it was solvet by Garmin, but will observe it.

  • I had the same issues with a couple of runs when I got the 955. One of the run, it got recorded for the first couple of minutes, then everything went missing but the HR for the rest of the run.On that day, I remember checking the power on the screen and I had only 0 on the screen.

    The second time, it was the opposite, the data were missing for most of the session before getting back.

    Both watch and chest are both on the latest available software and I usually wet the strap with water from the tap. I didnt have any issue for a couple of weeks now (and never had before switching from the 945lte to the 955.

  • I was to optimistic, today again power and dynamic data from HRM-Pro started to be visible after 50 sec of the workout.
    Definitelly something is wrong.
    Strap connecting to watch via ANT+ and was connected when I started activity, I’ve checked it.
