air / in-flight time missing from running dynamics

I just started using an HRM pro along with a Forerunner 245. I can now see on Garmin Connect the new metrics such as ground contact time, vertical oscillation, etc. One thing I notice though, is that there's no metric for "air / in-flight time", which I think makes it a difficult to put GCT in context (would like to understand how my GCT compares to my air time).

So, am I just missing this metric or is it actually not something currently available?. If the latter, is it planned on  a future release? Would it possible to calculate it using available data on the Activity API?

Thanks,

Eric

  • That is not a metric I've seen recorded in my yard using the RD pod, nor listed in the calculated metrics: www.garmin.com/.../561205 (yes, this is specific to the pod, but my understanding is the HRM Pro calculated the same)

  • Right, it's not listed, but I'm surprised Garmin would not show it since it can be easily calculated from the metrics that are  indeed gathered. With cadence you get time per each step, substract GCT and you have in-flight time per step.

I guess if it was that easy it would be shown. I must be missing something here and can't see what.
