Forerunner 920XT - WiFi

Putting in here as theres no 920XT forum any more?

Anyway, for a while now my Forerunner 920 (10.20 software) has refused to connect to any wifi point I set up  It seemed to do this after a firmware update though I forget which one.

It still syncs via USB and Garmin Express.  But Express can never find any networks (though it does not seem to actually search for any, just goes straight to no networks found.  Does express search or does it tell the device to do it?).

I can set the networks up manually but no combination of b/g/n, frequency band (2.4/5) or authentication (including OPEN) will work.  I also tried setting a hotspot on my phone.

Any time I try to connect the 920XT wirelessly it will only scan for about 2 seconds and then "Connection failed. Try again".

Maybe the battery is starting to die and it can't power the wireless transmitter enough?  I even took the back off to allow less interference and maybe let a weak signal work but no dice.

Hard resets have been done a few times and make no difference.

So I can only assume it's either

* A bug introduced recently which doesn't affect other models

* The aforementioned battery thing.  Pondering trying replacing the battery just to see.

* A bug deliberately introduced to annoy people of such old hardware into buying a newer model Wink

So does anyone have any ideas?
