HRM Dual - plastic battery cover separated from screws

I have a HRM Dual (about a year old) and the plastic around all 4 screw holes in the plastic battery cover has detached from around the screws and the plate has fallen off.  Anyone else experienced this?  I wash the chest band once per week in the washing machine.

.

  • I am still using it using the electrical tape wrapping around tightly, and thank God still is usable. Saw the HRM pro plus is updated with twist mechanism instead of screws Soo... Gonna buy it once saved up enough

  • contact Garmin, I got a replacement for same issue.  It is a known issue

  • ironically I just replaced my battery on HRM-Dual after 11months of pretty heavy use (500+hrs), and one of the screws remained in the module and the plastic of cover broke.  The exact issue I had 11months ago! lol  Well Garmin Service was great as usual, they are replacing and is on it's way already!  Kind of nice, get a new HRM every year for free :-D LOL

  • Hello Plahnsv,
I 've encountered the same problem and then found this thread.
I've contacted Garmin Japan and they told me they have no spare part for this one and suggested me to buy a new one. What?

  • Same story. Poor plastic quality. Garmin service suggested that i buy new hrm and they will give me 10% discount. WOW.

I am using electrical tape. I am never going to buy Garmin HRM
